Vernadette - Provincial Nominee Program

Tita Remy, as what most of us call her, was introduced to me by one of my friends. I never thought that meeting her would make my life easier in Canada.

I came here last 2008 under the OFW program. While I was still in the Skilled Category, Tita Remy advised me that I can sponsor my husband to work here. After processing all the requirements, Charlie (husband) came here on 2011 under the Open Work Permit category. The year after that, Tita Remy helped us again for my son’s (Carl) student permit and my sister’s (Abby) work permit application.

When the 90 days Provincial Nominee Application (pilot program) opened up, Tita Remy told us to apply right away. We worked days and nights to finish all the paper works so that we can submit it on time. After few months, we got our Permanent Residency status.

We had a lot of rocks and bumps to get our permanent residency but with Tita Remy’s guidance, we surpassed all the trials that went our way.

I believe that God will always guide us no matter where we are. And He always sends somebody to be our angel here on earth. In our case, Tita Remy is one of them. She always finds ways to help anybody. With that, we are forever grateful that we met her…

Cita - Caregiver Program

When I applied for my open visa and permanent residency, there were lots of struggles and problems. I waited about 6 months but there was no update. One day, I met a Filipina at a bus and she introduced me to Remy Lastiwka. I explained to her the problems about my papers and she helped me without hesitation. With her help, the processing of my papers came so fast. It just took only 3 months. I am grateful that I met her. She always helped me whenever I needed help and whenever I needed explanation on some papers that I cannot understand. She never stopped helping me until I got my family here in Canada. Remy is such a blessing for me, especially in the process of our papers.

Medina - Caregiver Program

It’s been a long journey for me before I brought my family in Canada. 2008-2016, it was long 8 years being a Temporary Foreign Worker and finally got my Permanent Residence status and still waiting for our Citizenship examination to be rescheduled due to this pandemic.

In my long way I met lots of friends, and one of them introduced me to the person who’s been and still part of our life, Tita Remy Lastiwka. She is a person whose heart desire is to help, I’ve known her for more than a decade. I can say she’s a blessing to us.

Personally, she’s always there to guide & help me, giving information & guidelines depending on what I’m asking for. She introduced, taught me and gave me chance to also help people thru the Community Volunteer Income Tax (CVITP/CRA) Program that help every taxation month free of charge for those low income earners & seniors.

Her mission and calling in life is to HELP... spiritually, emotionally, and even socially. In fact, every year she kept us united and she’s always organizing a get together party for us every year for everybody.

Me & my family are so grateful that we have Tita Remy. Every time we need help, we just call her and she will find time to help even in her busy day. We can always count on her. She is a blessing not only for my family but for all who is with her and ask for her.

Helen - Caregiver Program

I came to Canada way back 2011 as a caregiver. I met Tita Remy through my brother. I can still remember, I was almost done with my contract and was getting my documents ready to apply for permanent residency, only to find out that my passport was expired and my work permit will expire in a month. Imagine my stress that time 🥴. I was new to Canada. I didn’t have friends yet. I called my brother and asked if he knows anybody who can help me. He referred Tita Remy. I called Tita right away. Can you imagine, she didn’t know me but she picked me up right away in St. Albert eventhough it was snowing hard and took me to their house. She helped me organized all the paperworks needed for work permit extension. To our surprise, instead of work permit extension, the officer gave me an open work permit. Then we submitted my permanent residence application which was also granted right away.

I am forever grateful for Tita’s help. She taught me how to make application for caregiver be it work permit or permanent residency. And because of that I was able to help many friends who are struggling with their PR application.
